The VII Conference for the Promotion and Improvement of Carob Tree Cultivation was held on 9 May.

The association Empresas Innovadoras de la Garrofa (EiG) organized it together with the Conselleria de Medioambiente, Agricultura y Pesca del Govern.

Palma was chosen because the cultivation of carob in Mallorca represents 20% of all cultivation in Spain.

This day has seen the most recent techniques of cultivation of this, the agronomic behavior of the different varieties of carob and its marketing. In addition to the different applications in the food industry.

It has been a space for reflection, union, exchange of ideas and experiences among carob professionals.

Attendees had the opportunity to try the different products made with locust beans.

There were also two guided visits to two experimental carob plantations, one in Manacor and the other in Llucmajor.

The city council of Palma invited the attendees to a visit to the city.
